How to Apply
A high-level overview of the process follows:
- Submit your expression of interest to dcls@dcls.ca
- Respite Services Manager will contact you for a brief phone interview to ensure eligibility, and to answer questions you may have
- Submit your full application, which will include driver's abstract, criminal record check and other records
- Meet with prospective families seeking respite services
- Contract is drawn up and you become a contract respite provider

DCLS is seeking to contract additional Respite Providers. Respite Providers provide a temporary break to families and/or caregivers while ensuring the well-being and promote the development of a person with a developmental disability. DCLS seeks to match the person with a developmental disability with a respite provider who enjoys similar interests and activities.
Must be 19 years of age or older
Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate
Doctor's Certificate / Physical
Criminal Record Check for anyone in the home over 18 years of age
